RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Wednesday 326 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking a slight increase in new infections after reporting a caseload of less than 300 for five days in a row.
According to the ministry’s statement, 14 more patients died due to complications caused by the virus bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 356,067 and virus-related fatalities to 5,825.
The ministry also reported 476 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 344,787 with the recovery rate reaching 97 percent.
Of the new cases, Riyadh recorded the highest number of cases with 61 followed by Makkah with 27, Madinah with 26, and Jeddah with 17.
The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.
According to the ministry, there were 5,455 actives cases, of which 724 were critical.
