RIYADH — Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef launched here on Thursday a bootcamp to design the brand identity of the “Made in Saudi" program, against the backdrop of “Design the Kingdom’s industrial identity.”

A total of nine Saudi male and female designers, who were chosen by the concerned committee from among more than 400 candidates, are taking part in the camp, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Alkhorayef, who is also chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority, (SAUDI EXPORTS), urged the designers to show the identity of the “Made in Saudi” program, reflecting the Kingdom’s leading position at the regional and international levels.

“The “Made in Saudi” program is set to achieve part of the cultural identity and the great industrial capabilities of the Kingdom, stressing that the national industry builds a great legacy, spanning over four decades, and it has a great reputation and high demand in various countries that receive our exports.”

Alkhorayef said the program represents a national project for all Saudis, and hence the idea of designing the identity of the program for Saudi men and women so that its launch could be in Saudi hands.

“The launch of the bootcamp represents a qualitative initiative aimed at creating a unified identity for the national industry with national experiences as well, and it contributes to launching the Saudi product touching new horizons of reliability and excellence in all fields.”

The minister stressed the role of the nation’s youth in promoting the position of the national industry and its distinction at the national and global levels.

“The Kingdom carries a firm belief in the ability of its renewed wealth, represented by its youth and their aspirations, and relies on them to move it to a new phase based on innovation and creativity for a better future as they are the real wealth. Their efforts and creativity are the ones that will contribute to achieving the goals of the wise leadership in empowering the national economy and strengthening the Kingdom’s global position as an industrial powerhouse that contributes to enabling global production capabilities for a more sustainable future,” he pointed out.

It is noteworthy that SAUDI EXPORTS announced earlier that it will launch the “Made in Saudi” program at the beginning of the first quarter of 2021.

The authority said the program will be launched, in cooperation with its industrial partners, in line with its vision to support national products and make them the best option for consumers as well as to strengthen their confidence in the national product. It will also activate the growth of non-oil gross domestic product (GDP) through raising the loyalty of customers toward national products and services in a way realizing the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision to diversify sources of income.

Through this program, the Kingdom strives to launch a uniform identity to promote Saudi products and services in the local and international markets.
