Saudi Arabia strongly condemns deadly terrorist attack in Nigeria

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the horrific attack carried out by the Boko Haram terrorist group on a village in northeast Nigeria, which resulted in the death of scores of innocent civilians and the injury of others.

In a statement, the Saudi foreign ministry said: “We express our condemnation in the strongest terms of the terrorist attack that targeted civilians in northeastern Nigeria, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.”

“We extend our condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims and to the government and people of Nigeria, with wishes for a speedy recovery for those injured, the statement read.

“We reiterate the Kingdom's stand and solidarity with Nigeria against these heinous acts that target innocent lives and undermine security and stability,” the statement added.

Bahrain also denounced the terrorist attack and expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the government and the friendly Nigerian people, and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

It affirmed its solidarity with the friendly Federal Republic of Nigeria in the measures and policies it takes to preserve its security, stability and the safety of its citizens.

Bahrain said it reiterated its position in rejecting all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism, and calling for the need for joint international and regional coordination to eliminate extremist and terrorist groups.

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation offered condolences to the families of the victims, the government and people of Nigeria, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

The OIC affirmed its stand and solidarity with Nigeria against these terrorist acts to preserve its security and stability.
