RIYADH — Online education in Saudi Arabia is no more an emergency option only related to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, rather it is an indispensable strategic alternative, especially, in the future, said Dr. Mohammad Al-Sudairi, deputy minister of education for universities, research, and innovation.
Al-Sudairi made the remarks while inaugurating a virtual workshop titled “Gauging operational efficiency at the university-level education under the coronavirus pandemic".
Organized by King Faisal University in Riyadh, the workshop was attended by an array of researchers and specialists.
At the outset of his address, Al-Sudairi highlighted the significance of the workshop in discussing back-up factors to realize the operational efficacy, resulting from the shift to e-education (remotely administered online education), either because of technical factors or due to academic restructuring.
He also said that Saudi Arabia has provided the world with a distinct model, in the domain of e-education and online remotely-administered education, as it put human safety, first and foremost, thus it managed to achieve unparalleled global success, suffering the minimum losses at all socio-economic stages.
