Saudi Arabia reports new COVID-19 cases fall below 200

RIYADH —
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Saturday 190 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking a steady drop in single-day infections in the Kingdom.

The ministry also reported 14 more deaths in the past 24 hours, marking another low single-day virus-related fatalities in many months since the outbreak of the coronavirus in the Kingdom.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 358,526 and the deaths to 5,954.

The ministry also reported 324 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 348,562 with the recovery rate staying steady.

Of the new cases, the Riyadh region recorded the highest number of cases with 64 followed by the Makkah region with 36, Madinah with 31 and Eastern region with 18 cases.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the steady drop in the number of daily cases and the spike in recoveries, the active cases in the Kingdom also came down significantly with 4,010 reported on Saturday, and out of the total, 603 were critical cases.
