Saudi Arabia to announce registration system for taking COVID vaccine

RIYADH — Dr. Mohamed Al-Abdel Ali, spokesman of the Ministry of Health, said that the mechanism for registration for taking the coronavirus vaccine would soon be announced.

Addressing the daily press conference on Sunday on the latest coronavirus situation, he said that the ministry is keen to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine and its approval by the competent committees and bodies.

“The Kingdom was able to conclude very important contracts with companies, which are developing the coronavirus vaccine, and it will be one of the first countries where the vaccine will be available,” he said .

He noted that the Kingdom has become one among the countries that is showing an improvement and a steady decrease in the level of coronavirus spread and infection.

The ministry spokesman stressed the need to strictly adhere to the precautionary measures and preventive protocols issued by the competent authorities to stem the spread of the pandemic.
