BAGHDAD — An official Saudi delegation headed by Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid Al-Qasabi, who is also the acting minister of media, arrived in Baghdad on Monday.
At Baghdad International Airport, the delegation was received by Iraq's Minister of Planning Dr. Khaled Battal Najm, and Secretary-General of Iraqi Council of Ministers Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi.
The delegation includes Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef; Governor of Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization Saad Bin Othman Al-Qasabi; Secretary-General of the Saudi Export Development Authority and CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development Dr. Ayedh Al-Otaibi; representatives of ministries, institutions, and government sectors; in addition to a trade and economic delegation that includes a number of commercial, economic and investment companies.
During the visit, the delegation will hold talks with the Iraqi side within the framework of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council and the Joint Economic, Trade, Investment, Development, and Relief Committee.
On the sidelines of the visit, a Saudi-Iraqi businessmen forum will be held, under the patronage of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
The delegation will also sign a number of memorandums of understanding and joint cooperation.
A number of members of the delegation will visit the construction site of the Sports City gifted by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to the Iraqi people.
The delegation will also meet Iraqi President Barham Salih, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, and Speaker of the Parliament Mohammed Al-Halboosi. — SG
