Saudi Gazette report
RIYADH — Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor Affairs Abdul Majeed Al-Rashoudi said that there is no Saudi authority to verify experience certificates of expatriates, whether within the Kingdom or outside.
In a statement to Al-Arabiya Television, he explained that the experience certificate of expatriates is normally attested by his country while the attachés of the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions abroad attest their university degrees.
He said that expatriates with specialized professions cannot change the profession inside the Kingdom, except with a license from the authority related to the profession, such as the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and the Saudi Council of Engineers.
“There are some professions that are closely interrelated, such as salesman and sales representative,” he said while denying reports that the authorities are lenient toward foreigners and strict in the case of Saudis with regard to their certificates of experience.
