New COVID-19 cases in KSA drop to another record low

RIYADH — Single-day coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia dropped to 125 on Monday, beating the previous record low of 139 reported on Sunday and 141 cases on Thursday.

Monday’s figure is the lowest single-day number in many months since the outbreak of the pandemic in the Kingdom.

According to the Ministry of Health, 11 more patients died due to complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 360,013 and the deaths to 6,059.

The ministry also reported 243 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 350,792, with the recovery rate hitting nearly 97.43 percent.

All the regions in the Kingdom again reported less than 50 new infections with the Riyadh region recording 46 cases, followed by the Makkah region with 31 and the Asir region with 14 cases.

The Hail and Jazan regions recorded just 1 case while the Baha region Borders reported none.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the steady fall in new infections, the active cases in the Kingdom also dropped to 3,162 out of which 493 were critical cases.
