New COVID-19 cases continue to drop as Saudi Arabia reports 174 infections

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Friday 174 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 360,690.

According to the Ministry of Health, 10 more patients died due to complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 6,101.

The ministry also reported 208 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 351,573, with the recovery rate rising to 97.5 percent.

All the regions of the Kingdom recorded less than 50 cases once again with the Riyadh region reporting 47, followed by the Makkah region with 36 and the Madinah with 28 cases.

The Jazan and Hail regions registered 1 case each.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the steady fall in new infections, the active cases in the Kingdom also dropped to 3,016 out of which 436 were critical cases.
