King Salman sends formal invitation to Oman's Sultan to attend GCC Summit

RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman sent on Tuesday a formal invitation to Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to attend the 41st GCC Summit set to be held in Saudi Arabia on Jan. 5, 2021.

The invitation was received by Deputy Prime Minister of Oman Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said during his meeting with Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf.

During the meeting, they reviewed the Council's achievements made to the Member States' peoples, especially in social, economic, and commercial fields.

The secretary-general expressed his thanks to the Sultan of Oman for his continuous efforts to strengthen the GCC and push the council's progress to broader horizons.

The secretary-general also recalled the significant milestones of the past four decades and the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said's role in establishing the Gulf Cooperation Council and his pivotal role in its sustainability. — SG
