MANAMA — A total of 56,041 people — citizens and residents — have so far been inoculated against coronavirus after the nationwide vaccination campaign began 13 days back in Bahrain, the country health ministry said on Wednesday.
The huge turnout for the vaccine reflects positively on Bahrain’s collective national responsibility, the ministry added.
It thanked all those who have participated in the vaccination program to date, protecting themselves, their families, and the community.
The ministry also said the rollout of the vaccination program is ongoing in accordance with the plan.
It further stated that more than one million vaccinations have been on order since last August, subject to the satisfactory completion of approval processes and in accordance with the national vaccination campaign, with Bahrain being one of the first countries globally to place orders with vaccine manufacturers.
The dates for those registering to be vaccinated are determined by the availability of stock already received within the Kingdom of Bahrain, the ministry added.
It stressed that it continues to coordinate with approved vaccine providers on the receipt of further consignments, aligned to their logistical plans for vaccine distribution.
