GCC’s 41st session holds extraordinary significance: Kuwaiti envoy

RIYADH — Kuwaiti Ambassador Sheikh Ali Al-Khalid Al-Sabah underscored here Saturday the extraordinary significance of the upcoming 41st session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), due to the political developments witnessed in the region.

In a press statement, the ambassador remarked that the summit, which is to be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is set to take place within fraternal as well as positive atmospheres among the leaders of the GCC member states, in a way that would reflect the spirit of responsibility and sincere faith in the importance of the jointly facing challenges lying ahead.

Such joint approach would help in bringing about peace and stability for the sake of the countries and the peoples of the GCC member states, he stated.

The Arabian Gulf region is facing a lot of various and great political, development and economic issues and challenges, he added, drawing attention that the leaders of the GCC will discuss all these, with a common vision and orientation.

Realization of the common vision would be emanating from their belief in the common destiny and keenness to maintain the interests of the region's countries and peoples, as well, he elaborated.

Reaffirming confidence that the summit would culminate in success, he pointed to the grace of Allah and then the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense. — SPA
