Man nabbed for pickpocketing Dakar Rally woman participant

MAKKAH – A young man, who pickpocketed a woman participant of Saudi Dakar Rally, was arrested, according to police sources.

Maj. Muhammad Al-Ghamdi, spokesman of the Makkah region police, said that the arrest of the man was made after noticing a video clip, which was being circulated on social media, showing the woman Dakar Rally participant was being pickpocketed.

The security officials in Turba governorate were able to identify the suspect and arrested him, he said.

Al-Ghamdi said legal measures have been taken against the arrested Saudi citizen, who is in his 30s, before handing him over to the branch of the Public Prosecution.
