Prince Abdulaziz shares Kingdom's plans to develop sports industry with FIFA chief

RIYADH — Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal, who is also the chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, held talks here on Wednesday with the President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Gianni Infantino.

During the meeting, they reviewed the most prominent international sporting events hosted by the Kingdom during the past years in various sports, in accordance with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and Quality of Life Program.

They also reviewed the most prominent objectives of the Ministry of Sports and its future plans towards an attractive sports industry based on increasing community practice of sports. They were briefed on a strategy to support sports clubs in the Kingdom, and the application of the highest standards of governance to reach a professional sports system.

FIFA president was briefed on the Saudi scholarship program to develop football talents, which aims to develop the young talents of football players, starting from those born in 1999-2000 as a short-term goal, in order to build a strong generation of players, capable to support the Saudi teams in the upcoming continental and global tournaments.
