RIYADH — Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia once again dropped below the 100-mark on Friday, with just 97 new infections reported over the past 24 hours across the Kingdom, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry announced four more deaths over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by COVID-19, marking the lowest single-day fatalities in many months since the outbreak of the pandemic in the Kingdom.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 363,582 and the virus-related death toll to 6,282.

The ministry also reported 171 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 355,208, with the recovery rate rising to 97.69 percent.

The Riyadh region reported the highest number of infections with 46 cases, followed by the Makkah region with 20 and the Eastern region with 15 cases.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the recoveries surpassing new cases regularly, the active cases in Saudi Arabia have also dropped to 2,092 out of which 309 were critical cases.
