MANAMA — The new-look King Fahd Causeway Mosque has on Wednesday reopened its doors after undergoing renovation work costing 1.2 million Bahraini dinars (SR10.2 million approximately), the Bahraini News Agency reported.

Bahrain's Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa deputized Sunni Endowments Council Chairman Dr. Rashid Al-Hajeri to inaugurate the revamped mosque.

The opening ceremony was also attended by King Fahd Causeway Authority Chief Executive Officer Emad Almohaisen and a number of other officials.

He praised Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, hailing their drive to construct mosques and care for worshippers.

King Fahd Causeway Authority Chief Executive Officer Emad Almohaisen said that the mosque been revamped and expanded by 60 percent to accommodate 630 worshipers. The parking lot has also been expanded to have a capacity of 80 cars. — SG
