KAU ties up with US-based professional association to develop academic curricula

JEDDAH — The King Abdulaziz University signed on Tuesday a cooperation agreement with American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

The agreement was virtually co-signed by the university's vice president for Development, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Talhi and the Chief Executive Officer for AHIMA, Dr. Wylecia Wiggs Harris.

According to Dr. Al-Talhi, the agreement aims to develop academic curricula to be in line with the needs of the labor market and to raise the competence level of the department staff and students in the field of health information management and medical coding, which has assumed great significance due to exceptional circumstances that the whole world is going through as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
