RIYADH — Prince Sultan Bin Salman, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Commission (SSC), has stressed the importance of preserving, taking care of, and protecting the planet from environmental and human threats, so that the world’s population can live a healthy life on this beautiful planet.

In a recorded speech delivered at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit 2021 hosted by the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday, Prince Sultan underlined the importance of investing in technology in various fields, particularly in the space sector, which is now one of the most important sectors affecting people's lives and movement and facilitating their lives on the planet and interfering with their security and safety.

Saudi Arabia has been at the forefront in the region in terms of its experience in the field, he said.

"The vision and support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz played the key role in the Kingdom’s giant leap in the sector of space, citing the establishment of the SSC,” Prince Sultan said.
