Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — Dr. Abdullah Al-Asiri, the assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for preventive health, said that the slight increase in the number of coronavirus infections in recent days is due to the laxity on the part of some people in complying with the coronavirus precautionary measures and preventive protocols during the recent mid-year vacation.

The short vacation coincided with the winter season in which the activity of respiratory viruses increases in general.

Dr. Asiri stressed the need to take extra caution and enhanced compliance with the preventive protocols, especially in family gatherings and social events.

It is worthy to note that coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia crossed the 200-mark for the third consecutive day after more than a month with 212 infections reported on Thursday.
