RIYADH — The Special Forces for Environmental Security and the National Center for Wildlife Development have warned against violating the Hunting Law that prohibits hunting or harming endangered wild animals and birds or publishing video clips and pictures about hunting practices.

These practices will result in strict penalties in view of the fact that these are in violation of the Environmental Law and its executive regulations, the Special Forces and the National Center said in a joint statement.

“Violators of the regulations will be caught and referred to the competent authorities to slap the legally prescribed penalties against them,” the statement said adding that the hunting activities will be closely followed up and monitored by the concerned authorities.

The statement called upon all citizens and expatriates to be aware of their responsibility toward the protection of endangered wildlife and extend cooperation with the authorities in this regard, while emphasizing the significance of protecting them from any practices that risk their survival as it is essential to preserve the ecological balance and their sustainability in nature.

It urged to report any cases of violation to the toll-free number 911 in the regions of Makkah and Riyadh, and the number 999 in all other regions of the Kingdom.
