Saudi Arabia records 223 coronavirus cases as deaths drop, recoveries rise

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Tuesday 223 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 366,807.

The ministry reported 4 more virus-related deaths over the pat 24 hours, taking the total number of fatalities to 6,359.

The ministry also reported 203 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 358,340, with the recovery rate climbing to 97.69.

The Riyadh region reported the highest number of infections with 78 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 45 and the Makkah region with 34 cases while the Tabouk region recorded just 1 case.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the slight increase in new COVID-19 cases over the past few days, the active cases in Saudi Arabia also rose to 2,108, out of which 338 were critical.
