European ambassadors pay visit to Unified Security Operations Center

RIYADH — A number of European ambassadors accredited to Saudi Arabia visited on Monday the Unified Security Operations Center (911) in Riyadh.

The visit was arranged, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of the center’s programs to brief the diplomats on the services being rendered by the center in the security and service sectors to citizens, expatriates, and visitors to the Kingdom in the region.

This is one of the most important initiatives that are implemented by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the Quality of Life Program, one of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 programs.

Commander of the National Center for Security Operations Brig. Gen. Walid Al-Tuwyan and other officials received the ambassadors at the center.

Al-Tuwyan briefed them on the center, saying that it is the second of its kind in the Kingdom after the one in the Makkah region, and it aims to build a joint operations concept that calls for coordination and integration among all security and service authorities.

The operations are done through a unified system for exchanging information among security and service commands, passing warnings and orders to various administrative levels, and unifying databases in one place, to improve the response speed to emergency situations.

It is noteworthy that the Unified Security Operations Center (911) in the Riyadh region serves 22 governorates, in addition to the city of Riyadh, and working unit (62) operating rooms under one roof, with a unified emergency number (911).

The center is specialized in receiving all emergency calls of the following security authorities and agencies: Public Security; Traffic - Special Forces for Road Security and Security Patrols; Civil Defense, and Special Forces for Environmental Security, according to international standards that ensure prompt response by field teams in initiating and following up notifications until their disposal.

The center has a number of partners such as the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Saudi Electricity Company, and the National Water Company.
