Shops violating COVID-19 protocols face immediate closure

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing Majed Al-Hoqail has directed the immediate closure of all establishments that do not comply with the precautionary measures and preventive protocols to stem the spread of coronavirus. The minister also ordered to impose severe penalties against the violators.

Al-Hoqail said that he has given instructions to the mayoralties and municipalities to intensify inspections of markets, restaurants, and all shops related to public health.

“This is to ensure the protection of the society from the spread of coronavirus,” he added.
