Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SPDRY) has built 23 new model schools in various Yemeni governorates as part of its efforts to support the education sector in the war-hit country.

The new model schools established and equipped by the SPDRY are distributed over 23 regions in the governorate of Al-Mahra, Socotra, Aden, Taiz, Hadramout, Marib and Hajjah, where the selection of their sites came after evaluating the needs of these areas by the development specialists in the program.

The SPDRY equipped these schools with the newest specifications applied in similar educational projects in Saudi Arabia.

It is noteworthy that the SPDRY has implemented 198 development projects to serve 7 basic sectors in Yemen, which are health, energy, transportation, water, education, agriculture and fisheries, building the capacities of government institutions, and adopting the best development and reconstruction practices to contribute to the sustainability of development impacts.
