ADDIS ABABA — Ethiopia has arrested 15 suspected members of a terrorist group for allegedly planning attacks on United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy in Addis Ababa.

In a statement carried by the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA), the country’s intelligence service said that 15 individuals were arrested for plotting to carry out attacks in Addis Ababa in a move to tarnish the image of the city.

The National Intelligence Service (NISS) has been monitoring the situation closely, the statement said, adding that and NISS along with the Federal Police and other security forces, arrested 15 suspects.

Heavy weapons and explosive devices as well various were seized from the suspected terrorists, the statement added. — Agencies
