Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia remain over 300 as recoveries rise

RIYADH — Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia crossed the 300-mark for the third consecutive day on Thursday after more than two months as the health ministry recorded 303 new infections over the past 24 hours.

The virus-related deaths, however, remained low despite a slight increase in the new cases with just 3 reported on Thursday, according to the ministry's statement.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 369,248 and fatalities to 6,389 respectively.

The ministry also reported 297 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 360,697.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of infections with 126 cases, surpassing the 100-mark for the third day in a row.

The Eastern region reported 58 and the Makkah region saw 51 new infections. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the slight increase in the number of new cases, the active cases in Saudi Arabia rose to 2,162 out of which 395 were critical.
