RIYADH — The Saudi Academy of Civil Aviation (SACA), affiliated to the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), has won the membership and seat of the Global Aviation Training Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
It obtained 46 votes out of the total votes of member states during the elections held on the sidelines of the ICAO meetings.
GACA President Abdulhadi Bin Ahmed Al-Mansouri said that this achievement reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's contributions and distinctive weight in the world of civil aviation, and represents the Academy's distinguished work in the field of training that takes into account international regulations and standards.
He also pointed out that the Academy has achieved one of its strategic goals by being in a sustainable scientific and global position among its prestigious counterparts.
The ICAO Global Aviation Training Office consists of 17 members from countries with full membership in the Advanced Air Training Program.
The office plays an advisory role concerned with developing the international program strategically in the long term and issuing decisions on memberships. — SPA
