Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia continue to remain slightly above 350

RIYADH — Single-day COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia remained above the 350-mark for the fifth consecutive day, with 353 new infections reported on Friday.

The virus-related deaths, however, remained low despite a slight rise in the new cases with just four fatalities reported on Friday, according to the health ministry's statement.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 372,073 and fatalities to 6,424 respectively.

The ministry also reported 305 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 362,947.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of infections with 168 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 87 and the Makkah region with 34 new infections.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the slight increase in the number of new cases, the active cases in Saudi Arabia rose to 2,702 out of which 447 were critical.
