MANAMA — Bahrain's Foreign Minister Abdullatif Al-Zayani held telephone talks on Friday with the US special envoy for Iran, Robert Malley.

During the talks, they discussed close historical relations between Bahrain and the United States, regional developments, and issues of common interest.

Both sides underlined the importance of boosting partnership and cooperation between both countries, reducing regional tensions, and promoting security, stability, and prosperity.

Bahrain's foreign ministry congratulated Robert Malley on assuming the mission of the US special envoy for Iran, wishing him success in his new diplomatic duties. — SG
