RIYADH — The Arab Coalition on Sunday afternoon intercepted and destroyed two explosive-laden drones launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia toward Saudi Arabia.
The drone attack targeted civilians and civilian facilities in Khamis Mushait, according to the spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Brig. Gen Turki Al-Maliki.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Brig. Gen. Al-Malki said: “Joint Coalition Forces have intercepted and destroyed this afternoon (Sunday) (2) bomb-laden UAVs launched systematically and deliberately by the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects in (Khamis Mushait).”
Meanwhile, the condemnation of the Houthi actions in launching missiles, drones from Yemen continued with South Korea the latest country to blast Houthis’ terrorist attack on Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia.
The Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the government of the Republic of Korea strongly condemns the terrorist attack on Abha International Airport and calls to stop attacks on civilian installations.
The government of the Republic of Korea will continue to support the efforts of the United Nations and concerned countries to achieve stability in the region, the statement emphasized. — SPA
