Crown Prince, Russian president hold phone talks, seek to boost bilateral ties

JEDDAH — Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman had a telephone conversation on Monday with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin said in a statement.

According to the statement, both leaders sought to boost bilateral ties in various fields as Saudi Arabia and Russia will mark the 95th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in February.

They expressed mutual interest in building up cooperation in trade, the economy, and investment.

The Crown Prince and the Russian president also discussed ways to curb the spread of coronavirus and the possibility of using Russian vaccines in Saudi Arabia, the statement read.

Muhammad Bin Salman and Vladimir Putin also exchanged views on the implementation of the OPEC Plus agreements. They underscored their willingness to continue close bilateral coordination in the interests of maintaining stability in the global energy market, according to the statement.
