Recoveries continue to outpace new COVID-19 cases as deaths remain low

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health on Thursday recorded 327 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 374,029.

The ministry announced 5 more deaths over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities to 6,450.

The ministry also reported 371 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, surpassing the new cases for the fourth day in row. With the new recoveries, the total number of people free from the deadly virus reached 365,017.

The Riyadh region continued to record the highest number of infections with 165 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 51 and the Makkah region with 48 new infections.

The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom.

With the slight drop in the number of new cases, the active cases in Saudi Arabia fell to 2,562 out of which 493 were critical.
