Coronavirus-related deaths drop to 3 in KSA as recoveries outpace new cases

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health on Friday recorded 346 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, marking a slight fall in the number of new infections.

The ministry announced 3 more deaths over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 376,723 and virus-related fatalities to 6,483.

The ministry also reported 368 recoveries over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of people free from the deadly virus reached 367,691.

The Riyadh region continued to record the highest number of infections with 184 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 74 and the Makkah region with 38 new infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with 10 of them reporting less than 10 infections.

With the slight drop in the number of new cases, the active cases in Saudi Arabia fell to 2,549 out of which 477 were critical.
