COVID-19 recoveries outpace new cases in KSA as deaths continue to remain low

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Wednesday 331 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 378,333.

The ministry announced five more deaths over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities to 6,510.

The ministry also reported 351 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 369,277.

The Riyadh region continued to record the highest number of infections with 134 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 66 and the Makkah region with 46 new infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with six of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 2,546 active cases and 501 of them were in critical condition.
