Riyadh region accounts for over 50% of new COVID-19 cases as KSA sees 357 infections

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Sunday 357 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking a slight drop in the number of infections.

The ministry announced four more deaths over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19.

This brings the total number of coronavirus infections in the Kingdom to 379,831 and virus-related fatalities to 6,528.

The ministry also reported 314 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 370,614.

The Riyadh region continued to record the highest number of infections with 188 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 64 and the Makkah region with 51 new infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just eight of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 2,689 active cases and 505 of them were in critical condition.
