RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has approved several decisions issued by Saudi Health Council.

The decisions included accrediting (Seha) platform as a unified platform for medical reports and exchanging them between health sectors and relevant authorities, tasking the National Health Information Center with coordinating with health sectors to classify and process reports, and commitment of health sectors to applying the Saudi Food and Drug Authority’s unified mechanism of exchanging and substituting medicines.

The decisions also included tasking the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance with considering the addition of home healthcare services to benefits covered by the cooperative health insurance document, with giving the issue urgency.

The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques also approved accrediting executive plan initiatives for the project of utilizing medical devices and equipment with high costs that have certain roles for health sectors offering services and legislative authorities at the board of directors of Saudi Health Council, in addition to National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO), which included stage performance indicators.


The program of benefiting from medical devices and equipment with high costs emanates from the healthcare strategy in Saudi Arabia and is considered one of the initiatives of the Saudi Health Council to realize the goal of “Improving the Efficiency of Health Services” in the 2020 National Transformation Program. — SG
