JEDDAH — Facebook Inc’s platforms — WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram — were facing mass outages on Friday evening in Saudi Arabia and other parts of the world.

Users are facing an issue with logging in, sending, and receiving messages on instant messaging and social media platforms.

"We're aware that some people are having trouble accessing some services across the Facebook family of apps," a Facebook spokesperson said.

"We're working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible."

Facebook Gaming posted a statement on its Twitter account, alerting users that gaming streams were also affected by the outage. — SG
