GDNC foils smuggling of 10,948,000 Amphetamine pills

RIYADH — The General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) has foiled an attempt to smuggle in 10,948,000 Amphetamine pills, hidden in tries, into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,

GDNC official spokesman Capt. Mohammad Al-Nujaidi said that security follow-up of activities of criminal networks, which plan to smuggle narcotics into the Kingdom, has resulted in exploiting a plan to smuggle large quantities of Amphetamine pills into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Follow-ups resulted in seizing 10,948,000 Amphetamine pills in coordination with the Saudi Customs at Jeddah Islamic Port, while hidden in a shipment of tires.

The GDNC spokesperson said that members involved in the case were arrested, including three Turkish nationals, a refugee and a citizen.

Capt.Al-Nujaidi said that the detainees were apprehended and faced initial legal procedures before being sent to the Public Prosecution. — SPA
