RIYADH — The Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has launched a digital identity project for the Tawakkalna application as the government seeks to digitize identification documents.

As part of the project, the application will have a citizen as well as a resident identity to enable its official use as electronic proof of a person's identity.

This cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and SDAIA comes in implementation of the directives of Crown Prince Muhammed Bin Salman, who is also the chairman of the Board of Directors of SDAIA, to enhance integration among government agencies as part of efforts to enable digital transformation to realize the goals of Vision 2030, with the aim of facilitating the lives of citizens and residents.

The interior ministry noted that the Tawakkalna digital identity acts as an official document approved for the identification of citizens and residents, adding that it is identical to the digital identity in the Ministry of Interior’s "Absher Individuals" application.

The ministry extended its sincere thanks to SDAIA for its untiring efforts in completing this project and other joint projects aimed at serving citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
