12 projects to participate in 2021 Red Sea Lodge lab

JEDDAH — Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival unveiled on Thursday 12 projects that were selected to participate in the 2021 Red Sea Lodge project lab.

Out of the 12 projects, six are from Saudi Arabia while the remaining six hail from Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait and Lebanon.

Every project includes a director, producer and author. Female participants will be directing half of the projects and producing three of them.

The selected teams will participate in four virtual workshops and a fifth one to be held in Jeddah during the next session of the Red Sea International Film Festival, which is scheduled to run in Jeddah from Nov. 11 to 20, and each team will present its project to film industry professionals from all over the world.

An independent jury will select two projects to win the Red Sea Lodge Award. The two award films will receive a production grant and an opportunity to world premiere at the Red Sea International Film Festival 2022.
