RIYADH — Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media Majed Al-Qasabi announced that the government of Saudi Arabia aims to complete the nationwide coronavirus vaccination campaign before the end of 2021.
“We plan to complete the immunization of all Saudi citizens and expatriates before the end of the current year,” he said while attending the periodic government communication briefing here on Wednesday.
Al-Qasabi emphasized that the privatization program does not mean that the health and education sectors will become paid services. Replying to queries about any move to make them paid services, he reiterated that the state is committed to providing citizens free education and healthcare. “The privatization aims to raise the efficiency of government agencies’ performance and provide quality services to citizens,” he said.
The minister said that the Shareek (Partner) program, unveiled by the Crown Prince on Tuesday, will help local companies inject investments of up to SR5 trillion by 2030. THE LINE city project in NEOM represents a revolution in urban line and is the first of its kind in the world. He also drew attention to the Crown Prince’s earlier announcement about the plan to develop Riyadh into one of the top 10 city economies in the world.
Al-Qasabi said that the Kingdom’s judicial system is independent and that the government does not interfere in its rulings. Referring to the Yemen and Palestine issues, he said: “The Kingdom’s initiative to end the crisis in Yemen has received widespread international support. Saudi Arabia backs the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
