Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — Saudi exports to China and Japan accounted for 27.7 percent of the total value of Saudi exports; that is, SR182.3 billion out of total exports reaching SR657.55 billion during 2020.

Saudi exports include that of domestic goods, whether oil or non-oil, in addition to exports of foreign commodities, known as re-exports.

Saudi exports to China and Japan registered a 35 percent drop during 2020, mainly affected by the decrease in the value of oil exports, whose prices were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to the impact of economic closures on the global trade movement, according to Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper.

The percentage of the acquisition of Saudi exports by China and Japan decreased from 28.5 percent in 2019 to 27.7 percent in 2020. Compared to the past five years, the percentage of the two countries' acquisition of Saudi exports increased from 22.1 percent in 2016 to about 27.7 percent in 2020.
