RIYADH —
Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr.
Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, who is also an adviser at the royal court, pointed out that Saudi Arabia has so far contributed more than $713 million to addressing the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) globally and help countries in need to combat it.

Al-Rabeeah made the remarks during his participation in a meeting of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) through video conferencing technology.

Dr. Al Rabeeah said that we live today under difficult conditions because of the COVID-19 pandemic, due to which the world faces many health and economic challenges and many other challenges.

He added that these challenges demonstrated the importance of unified global efforts to confront the pandemic, indicating that the Kingdom provided, during its hosting of the G20 summit for the year 2020, $500 to support international efforts to address the COVID-19 pandemic and to manufacture and distribute an anti-virus vaccine.

He affirmed that we, as members of the GVAI Covax initiative, are still far from achieving our goals and objectives, but we are moving forward in carrying out our tasks, stating that we have a great responsibility to reconsider increasing global production and distribution of vaccine and easing export restrictions, all of which hinder efforts to accomplish our mission.
