Critical cases stay above 1,000 for second day as 948 new COVID-19 cases reported

RIYADH —
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Saturday 948 new COVID-19 cases and 9 more virus-related deaths over the past 24 hours.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reported the number of critical cases stayed above 1,000 for the second straight day.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 404,054 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,810.

The ministry also reported 775 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 387,795.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 419 followed by the Makkah region with 210 and the Eastern region with 133 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just three of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 9,449 active cases and 1,018 of them were in critical condition.
