Saudi Arabia records 970 new coronavirus cases, 11 deaths

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Monday 970 new COVID-19 cases and 11 more virus-related deaths over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 405,940 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,834.

The ministry also reported 896 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 389,598.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 438 followed by the Makkah region with 227 and the Eastern region with 131 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just three of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 9,508 active cases and 1,087 of them were in critical condition.
