Recoveries outpace new COVID-19 infections as Saudi Arabia reports 1,055 cases, 11 deaths

RIYADH — Single-day coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia remained over the 1,000-mark on Thursday for the third consecutive day, with 1,055 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health, 11 more died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by the deadly virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 409,093 and the virus-related fatalities to 6,869.

The ministry also reported 1,086 recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 392,448.

The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of new cases with 468 followed by the Makkah region with 206 and the Eastern region with 166 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 9,776 active cases and 1,182 of them were in critical condition.
