ALULA — The Royal Commission for AlUla has launched a new department to support filming in AlUla.

Called Film AlUla, the
department will facilitate filmmakers to discover picturesque filming sites amid the nature of AlUla and its historical monuments.

Located 1,100 kilometers from Riyadh, AlUla is a tourist destination with its breathtaking natural beauty and heritage. It is home to Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hegra, which is a 52-hectare ancient city.

The new
department will focus on supporting and stimulating local productions by working with several government agencies in the field of filming to shoot in AlUla in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 which seeks to support national talents in the film industry.

Several international producers have expressed their interest in exploring AlUla as a destination for their films, while a film produced by Hollywood will be announced soon.

Two Saudi movies will be also filmed soon in AlUla, namely "Bayn Al-Rimal" and "Noura", which are directed and produced by Saudis.
