The Omar Bin Al-Khattab Mosque in Dumat Al-Jandal, located adjacent to the Marid Castle, in the northern Saudi province of Al-Jouf. The Second Caliph Omar Bin Al-Khattab ordered the construction of the mosque during the Hijri year 16 while he was heading to Jerusalem. It is one of the oldest historic mosques, which is still being preserved in its old style. The mosque’s architecture represents continuity of the pattern of the design of the first mosques in Islam, particularly the design of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah in its early stages.

The shape of the mosque is almost rectangular and built of carved stone, and extends from west to east 32.5 meters of length and 18 meters wide. The mosque consists of the corridor of the qiblah, the mihrab, the minbar, the courtyard and the prayer area. The mosque is known for its magnificent minaret that has 12.7 meters of height with a square shape — SPA
