Prince Faisal meets with Qatari emir, invites him to Saudi Arabia

DOHA — Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad received Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan on Monday here, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the meeting, Prince Faisal handed Sheikh Tamim an invitation from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to visit Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi foreign minister also conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince Muhammed Bin Salman to Sheikh Tamim, wishing him and the Qatari people further progress and prosperity.

The Qatari emir reciprocated greetings and appreciation to King Salman, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman and the Saudi people.

During the talks, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in all fields to serve their aspirations, in addition to discussing regional and international developments, and issues of common interest.

Earlier in the day, Prince Faisal and his accompanying delegation were received upon arrival at Doha International Airport by Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman.

During the meeting, the two sides sought to activate mechanisms of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council and everything that would enhance bilateral relations and develop joint work in various areas of coordination and cooperation between the two countries.

During the talks, Prince Faisal valued the full support extended by Qatar to Saudi Arabia for all measures it takes to combat drug trafficking in all its forms.

For his part, the Qatari foreign minister reiterated his country's support for the Kingdom in all efforts to enhance its security and stability.
